Linköping Biogas
The plant was started in 1995 and co-digests organic industrial waste. It is primarily slaughterhose waste which requires sanitation. In total some 30 different substrates are processed which can be divided in slaughterhouse waste and waste from the food industry.
Linköping Biogas has a stable and high production, leaving a reception guarantee to its suppliers of waste.
The biogas is upgraded in five upgrade plants (using water-scrubbing and PSA technology) to vehicle-grade gas that is distributed partly in an own network and partly in gas containers. A sixth upgrade plant of cooab type is being built in the summer of 2010.
The vehicle gas is sold at a bus depot and 15 public gas stations in and around Linköping.
In total the production equals 7% of all fuel consumed in Linköping.
The bio-fertilizer produced is certified according to SPCR 120 and is sold as a replacement for commercial fertilizer.
It is an example plant in the EU-project bioGASMAX.
